The second batch of students enrolled in the 46 colleges of education's four-year bachelor's degree program in education has begun their extended teaching (internship) placements in partner basic schools.
Due to the disruption of the academic calendar caused by CETAG industrial action last year, the majority of colleges of education started their internship programs on February 6, 2023, and trainees anticipate finishing them when the basic schools close on March 24, 2023. It should be noted that the program was originally scheduled to start on January 20, 2023.
However, information received by Sticky Newz on February 20, 2023, reveals that the course requires a minimum of 12 weeks and 12 credit hours; as a result, mentees may remain in their positions until May 2023. This guarantees that the necessary number of weeks and credit hours are completed.
Mentees are cautioned to take this information seriously and to make adequate preparations. In other words, when the basic schools have starts again, trainees will stay in their posts for an extra five weeks.
